Can I move my documents and settings folder on C drive and move it to my secondary F drive?

The amount of space taken up on c drive is 35% and I am looking to free up disk space. Windows takes up 48%. Can documents and settings folders be moved or does it have to remain on c drive to start up and work properly with the remaining Windows program?

  • TJB:

Docs and settings folder does, however you can move the contents of My Documents.

Right click ‘My Documents’ go to ‘Properties’ and select ‘Move’

Then chose where you want it to go (F:\) – that way all your personal files will be moved, but your profile data will stay on C: as it needs to.
