How do you install mac os x onto a Dell laptop?
I want to know how you can put mac os x or snow leopard or something like that onto a Dell laptop that’s running on xp. Is there a torrent or something like that?
Please let me know. Thanks
You’ll have to download a specific version of Mac OS. Go to piratebay and you’ll be able to find a good pirated version of Mac. It’s funny how these Mac fan bois are trying to talk down to you like you don’t know anything about the computer. It’s possible to install Mac on a PC (don’t know why you would want to). All of the hardware is the same. Just set up a partition on your HD (or get a second HD) and then you can switch between the two at the boot prompt.
Not a good idea to torrent anything, friend. ESPECIALLY on a PC. Additionally, installing OS X on a PC is very tricky to do, and if you aren’t familiar with how to accomplish it, chances are it would be beyond your level of expertise. My best advice would be to invest in a cheap apple laptop. That is the best way to run both windows and OS X – via Bootcamp (which is built into OS X) or a third party piece of software like Parallels.
Google "Hackintosh" or "Installing Mac on a Dell" and you should find plenty of good explanations. It is a bit difficult to explain here.
The short answer: You can’t.
The long answer: Not long ago, it was possible to install Mac OS X onto certain non-Apple computers using a "hacked" version of the OS X installer, known as a "Hackintosh." However, Apple recently updated their OS (10.6, known as "Snow Leopard") to disable this capability. Thus, while it may be possible, updating the OS to the latest version will render the computer inoperative.
Keep in mind that building a Hackintosh required a specific hardware configuration. There is not, nor has there ever been, a "global" OS X installer for non-Apple machines.
Building a Hackintosh not only violates Apples end user license for the OS, but it also requires a level of technical sophistication not usually found in casual user circles. The end result is also not 100% Mac, since the hardware specifics are not built to Apple’s requirements. Thus, compatibility is always in doubt.
Do yourself a favor. If you want a Mac, but a Mac. It you don’t want to spend the money (warning: in the long run, Macs are no more expensive than Windows PCs, but that’s a different topic), get something else.
Its not wise to download a full OS using torrent. That’s a good way to get into trouble and not just legally.
If you want the Mac OS x then trying buying the dvd from apple.

If you want to run Mac OS x on your pc then you will have to use something like vmware or pearpc
http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/

Those programs basically emulate a Mac partition. That allows you to install MAC os like you would on a MAC.
