Is it possible to run a mac OS X on a windows computer?
I have a windows vista laptop with 1 gig ram and 60 some gb hard drive….I was thinking of buying a mac OS disk, but I wanna make sure that ill be able to run it on this laptop, its jaguar OS if that helps, if it is possible, could you give me detailed step by step instructions on what to do to install it? Thanks.
Yes it is possible to install mac OS X on a PC computer. But it is illegal and I would not suggest it. Plus when installing mac OS X on a PC computer you loose some features and functionality. It also slows down a little bit. And Jaguar isn’t really that good I would suggest tiger (10.4) leopard (10.5) or snow leopard (10.6) you can buy a mac mini for only about $599, it is a powerful little guy considering its size. A very good introduction to a mac. The only thing is you will need to purchase an apple keyboard ($69) an apple magic mouse (also $69) and a monitor. Although I would not suggest an apple monitor for some one who is on a tight budget if that is the case, because although they are the best of the best they start at $899, if you already have a monitor you can get an inexpensive vga, s-video, hdmi etc. to mini display port adapter to connect your old monitor to your new mac mini. So if you’re interested in mac OS X I would not suggest that you experience the best OS in the world in an illegal way
Plus it’s a pain in the but to install OS X on a PC computer, you either need to buy some sort of expensive software, or some sort of expensive chip to add to your mother board that tricks OS X into thinking that it is running on apple hardware when in fact it isn’t, it is really difficult and not worth your time or money, the easiest way is to just go buy a mac. I hope this helped, if you decide to get the mac welcome to the mac world you’ll love it here
Nope, Apple is selfish and won’t share but that doesn’t matter. I use an iMac and my twin uses a PC w/ windows 7, stick with windows or linux.
It’s technically possible but it’s not all worth the trouble. With your specs though, you might consider switching to Ubuntu or downgrading to XP. I don’t see how Vista manages to run anything with only 1GB of RAM.
