I’m currently working on the general education requirements for my AS in Programming & was wondering is it transferable to a BS in Computer Science at a four year university? I’m thinking about transferring to FSU. Also who would they most likely consider: A person with a A.S Degree or A.A Degree & why?
Forgot to add the my CC doesn’t offer A.A for Programming, just Engineering. In a way are they the same?

I’m currently working in retail to support myself (apartment & school studying Game Design), but I would like to receive better income with an actual career. My university (University of San Diego) is offering online courses in Java Programming, and I would be awarded a certificate upon completion.

I’m just wondering what type of jobs will I be able to get with this cert? I would be willing to get this cert if it means having a better job to support myself during school.

I’m currently just teaching myself HTML & CSS, I realize they are markup languages but I thought It would be a good place to start at least. With programming languages though, I’m almost thinking about just going through BASIC, just to start, and then maybe move on to Python. But what do you guys think?

I know that every programming language does its own work but i would like to know that in which i could make such type of programs which we use. So please if you could tell me the most powerful programming languages & their conventional uses.

I was just wondering where is the best place to learn all about the special characters that have meaning in the C programming environment. Characters like, % or & or ^ or \.

I’ve looked at a few websites out there but I can’t seem to find any page that is specific to what these characters do. It’s as if all of them blow right through that explanation as if everyone knows what they mean.

I am 46 & I am planning to get into the IT field. All I know is some html 7 css. Now I was recommended to learn Linux to get a job. I am have the choice between learning Linux Administration, or web development or SQL server database. What would you guys do in my shoes? I am 46 & I am giving myself 1 year. Regards.
