Is it OK to make money out of open-source projects?

I know how to make money out of open-source projects and apps but is it OK to do so if other people have helped you with the project. Just keep the money from ads, paid support and other stuff.

What programming language is used to develop iOS apps?

I’ve poked around a bit, but haven’t found much that’s terribly clear on the subject. On Apple’s website they talk a lot about "Xcode," but it seems more like that’s that actual programming suite.
An easier way to go about this question is probably this – If I wanted to develop iOS apps, what programming language would I need to buy a book on?

What would be the best programming language to learn if I wanted to make Android apps?

I’m taking an introductory C++ class in high school and I really like it. Although I could never make a career out of it, I think it would be cool to be able to make Android apps sometime in the future.
What would be the best programming language to learn to do it? I think Android uses Java to an extent, but does it use any others?

How to get started in programming Java?

I would like to take up programming Java (and eventually making apps for Android), but all the books on Amazon seem to be out of date, or not yet released. Is there a good website, or current book that could get me started in programming Java? I have absolutely no experience, so a "refresher" book would not do.
