Im just wondering what programming language is best to learn for begginners, i already know html and also visual basic, but im looking to learn a more involved programming language, im just not sure where to start, and also if you could suggest some websites that have tutorials or guides, cheers in advance!

I use a mac, recently laid-off, would like to add wire framing and work flows to my skill set. Looking for options to the expensive apps Fireworks and Visio. Would love to hear about the best open source options Cheers, Steve.
