I’ve dabbled a little in other programming including java, php, and objective-c in school, but never got in to anything complicated, and I’d like to learn to program game. I figure the best language to do so is C++, but seeing as good books on the subject can get pretty expensive, I’d like to find a good, free online resource to learn it.

I want to become a programmer, but don’t understand programming. Is there any good books out there that I would understand programming. Please help.

I know a fair amount about CSS and HTML and am interested in Javascript and learning C++ computer programming. What would be two good books I could follow to help me learn these two areas.

I want to know how to write scripts and program in PHP, so that I can add opinion polls to my web site. I can’t find any good books that teaches php in depth from beginning to end. The books seem to teach how to use servers that use php, but not php itself. I learned html and css using books easily. Are there any great books out there that can teach a beginner like me PHP?

I’m only sixteen, but I’m very interested in computer programming and application developing for Mac computers. I’m wondering if there are any good books out there that will help me learn how to go about the basic process and learn the coding if not even further. Thanks in advance.

Also! Any good books on repairing computers? that would also be a great help.

I have absolutely no experience whatsoever with programming, but I would like to know of some good books and or websites on it.

I would also like to know the best programming language to start with.

I want to get into programming but am unsure where to start. I already have a Bachelor’s (two actually) and don’t really want to fork up the money for more education (and would like to learn on my own); now that I’m OLDer, I have more discipline to study but need some help in how to go about this. More detailed questions are:

1. What programming languages should I study?
2. How do I gain programming experience so that I can build up my resume (in order to obtain a job that requires experience)?
3. Do you know of any good books I can buy to start in programming?

I have recently spent some time learning about OOP in PHP and I have a pretty good understanding of it now. What PHP-related topics would you recommend I cover now and could you recommend any good books or other sources for learning them?
