I need to erase the hard drive. It’s the one and only hard drive on the computer. I don’t have the OS or boot disc. I have XP. I need to erase everything because I am getting rid of the computer.

I have a server that I want to run purely for the database, now the mysql is installed on one hard drive, I want to move it to another hard drive and still be compatible with webmin, how would i go about doing this?

I’m just wondering, I can’t get any OS to install properly on my computer and I thought I could try this. If I take a hard drive from the mentioned computer, and put it on a computer I have managed to install different OSes on before, and do the install, what happens when I put the HDD back to the first mentioned computer. Is it worth a shot? Could it work?
Any help, options, tips, anything at all is appreciated

I have a iMac with a non working cd drive. I need to reinstall the operating system. I don’t need to use the drive as this computer is only used for internet. I heard there is a way to install from a from a flash drive. Is this possible? Just to clarify I don’t need to install OS X to the flash drive. I need to install from a flash drive to the hard drive of my iMac.

I’m currently running Vista, gonna partition my hard drive and install Windows 7 on partitioned area. Once I do so, how do I make Windows 7 my boot OS and wipe Vista partition so my drive is no longer partitioned and I’m only running Windows 7?

I have a windows vista laptop with 1 gig ram and 60 some gb hard drive….I was thinking of buying a mac OS disk, but I wanna make sure that ill be able to run it on this laptop, its jaguar OS if that helps, if it is possible, could you give me detailed step by step instructions on what to do to install it? My hard drive is really messed. So I need to reformat it (hopefully that works).

But after several moves, I can find the windows xp cd activation code. I can run windows only in safe mode. Is there anyway to find it in the registry?

Hey Everyone,

I want to donate my computer, but want to make sure all of the data has been deleted. I have heard that data can be recovered even if you reformat the hard drive. Does anyone know any good open source or free software that scrubs your computer?
