I know you can boot linux from a usb, I just made one last night, but my question is how does it work on any machine I boot it on…how does it interface with different hardware?
What kind of training do I need to use open source programing code?
Hey I want to know what kind of training will I need to use open source code from programs like Mame or Final Burn, emulators. If the rumor of the PS3 Hard Drive coming with Linux, I want to make a emulator in which people can play 4-6 player arcade games (with legal roms of course) on a TV through a PS3. I’m currently trying to get back in school to get a degree in Infomation Systems with a consentration in software, cause I want to become a game developer, but I want to start with using open source to see if I have the goods to make a good interface.

I know XFCE is lightweight and runs better on older hardware. But what makes Gnome the more popular desktop environment then? What is still superior in Gnome that can’t be done well in XFCE

I have designed a system for analysing and predicting the movements, under certain condictions, of forex prices of various currency pairs.
The programmer who was writing this program for me has totally let me down, after receiving a large part of the payment for this job.
