Im trying to create my own video game in adobe flash cs4, in order to do this i will need to learn a language called actionscript 3.0. I have no programming knowledge at all, so how do i start out with the basics to work my way up so i can learn actionscript?

Do i need to know programming first? How do i go about doing that? Do i need to learn a language to learn programming? Please help.

What is the best book to learn java programming?

I want a beginners book in java programming, I know very little as I did a short course in school.

I know visual basic programming and a few other programming languages already, and now want to learn java programming.

I want to start learning programming, and I was wondering what languages I should use. I’ve been told Java is pretty good to start out with, but I wanted a broader source of answers. A few things to base the answer on…

- I’ll be doing my programming in Mac OS 10.5
- I’d prefer desktop application-style programming, but I’ll do web development if it’s strongly advised.
- I’ve dabbled a bit in Python.

I want to learn PHP programming but I do not have that big server computers or a network of computers. Is it possible to do PHP programming using only a laptop connected only to internet, through a 3g modem; and running on Windows XP SP3 OS? What are the application and/or software that I need to install to make it work?

I’m an Electrical Engineering student that want’s improve my basic familiarity with C++ and Java into average skills or even better. I’m not going into programming but I want to learn more about programming simple programs or make my own budgeting programs or something.
