I have no experience in computer software engineering but I have an interest in it. Someone told me to start by learning C script. Is that really where I should start? How many kinds of script are there? What does each one do?

I recently started learning c++ and found out I’m pretty good at it! Almost all of the software I download on the internet has pictures and looks really nice. My programs just have a black boring screen. I really would like to have my programs look more interesting and user friendly. I’m currently using Dev C++. How to write a program to send an email in C?

My email takes a really long time to boot up, log in, and send an email. Also I am learning C, so I was wondering if anyone knows a function or other way to send an email from a C program? I already have a program to prompt for address, subject, and body message, but I don’t know how to send it. Any ideas?

What programming language do you prefer to use when developing applications?

And why? Just wondering.. I’ve been learning C# recently and I find it to be much more powerful than Java, but similar syntax so it was easy to start learning after already programming in Java. I’m also interested in the XNA framework. I’ve kind of stayed clear of C++ for now.. idk I find that C# is just as useful and it’s easier.

Is it okay to use different books to learn C?

I am learning C with David Mark’s book "Learning C on Mac" and I still have certain questions. Should I buy K&R C Programming language for further explanations, and are there any live chats or people that will be willing to help me when I have questions?
