I was thinking that there may be a linux os that does this, but I can’t seem to find any. I want to have my old computer play game emulators like NES and SNES, Sega, and Game Boy, without having an entire os boot up. I very much like Linux and am very new to Windows 7 Professional OS (that’s the reason for all the Windows 7 Professional questions on here, which I do appreciate everyone’s helpful responses). Can you recommend a Linux OS that would complement Windows 7 Professional OS? A computer technician friend recommend Ubuntu. Thank you in advance, my friends, as I truly appreciate your helpfulness.

I’m just curious. I use Mac OSX (leopard) and I think it would be nice to have a portable Linux OS that will carry all of my files and settings so I could have those where ever I am (and of course so I could avoid using Windows). I was just wondering if there is any way of doing this. Size isn’t much of an issue since I’m planning to get a new flashdrive for it anyway.

I need a good linux OS that would run on 256MB of RAM or less. & with CPU 1GB.

Where do I go to get Linux? Is it more beneficial to buy it? Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to uninstall Windows 98 and install a linux os?
