I’ve done a little research and I know a little bit of programming in Java, but Java simply is not powerful enough for my applications.
I’m looking for an inexpensive or free source to learn C++ in the intent to program a video game. If anyone has any good suggestions or resources to look into, I’d love to see them and hear about them.

I know PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML. I probably need to learn Javascript, and a little bit of Ajax just probably for forms or something.

What is the ideal environment to work in?

Just for you specifically I guess.

On a Windows PC, Linux PC, or Mac (I have heard they have nice programs over there, CSStabs I heard of)

What programs do you use? Dreamweaver? PHP Professional? And please I don’t want to hear any 1337 programs saying they just use regular notepad. I have heard some people code on Firefox using it’s extensions

Do you have Apace with others set up, or do you just have an all in one server like Xampp set up?

And finally, when you code, I’m assuming you don’t do it with just your mind, do you have any references (books, printed pages, websites) you use while you code it?

I am an aspiring coder, and I don’t wish to pay money to learn this. I’m getting there. I just want to know some of you guys setups.

I have a little bit of experience with Basic and a little bit more with c++, up to and including pointers and basic structs and classes. I was wondering if there’s anything I should be aware of if I continue to focus on c++….. it seems c++ doesn’t need to be as hard as it is.
my cps 180 class (intro to programming) was a breeze, but I struggled with cps 181 to get by pointers… what language if any, is superior for me to learn?

I am very interested and fascinated by programming languages and would really like to learn one. I have already begun learning java and I really want to learn a native language like C, C++, C# and those sort of languages. The problem is that I am having a little bit of trouble deciding which language to start with. I would appreciate it a lot if someone could tell me what language to start with, thank you.

Im taking a course in automata theory but have a very limited background in programming. I’ve done a little bit of html and C++. Will I be okay to learn automata theory?

I want to learn some more advanced programming languages, but all I know right now is HTML, VBscript, Batch coding, and a little bit of Javascript. My goal is to be fluid in C++ and Perl as soon as possible. Where should I start? Any good tutorials? Any good websites? Any advice?

I found a myspace layout that i really want but its a default layout it only show a little bit of the pictures in the background. I want to keep the layout but i want it to be a skinny layout. A skinny layout shows most of the layout. Does anyone have a code or an idea that i can get to change it.

I know a little bit about programming from doing some basic stuff. I was wondering about an object oriented programming language. What programming language is used to develop another programming language like Java?
