Ive heard of tons of programming softwares but i just want a simple one to start with where i can make basic applications, mobile and iphone apps and design basic models, im only 15 and porbably wont take programming as a carrer, but i do want to learn. I am only a begginer, so a software with loads of tutorials on the internet will be good.

My computer is a Dell, and Dell only supports linux for some of the newer models. Because the warranty is expired Dell completely refuses to help me over the phone. So how do I get the linux drivers for my computer?

I would like to know the answer for both of these. Correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have heard so far programmers are more technical, using programming languages where as designers are more visual, with the models and maps. I am leaning toward programming because I am not that artistic or visually creative, unless that is not needed. I would specifically want to know what degrees are required.
