Hello, I am a new web designer and i need some software to support some open source cms and an open sorce program called buddypress (google it if you dont know what buddy press is). I would prefer the software to be free, but any would do as long as it works. I have tried Dreamweaver 8 but no luck with it, would not work for me. My operating system is xp. The open source cms is called drupal.

I have to write an essay on this.

Also could someone please tell me how open source CMS are supported.

I see the open source usage is rising very quickly in the field of web development
many so called web development companies do nothing than installing an open source script just like joomla, drupal, word press, etc .. and just configuring it and selling it as their own developed software

this make the real web developers hard to compete cause open source CMS are full of feature can’t be developed easily

and the real custom web development is declining

is this the end of real web programming and development?

I’m looking for some kind of open source CMS or CRM to keep and make new medical redords for my patients, open source is a plus but would be great.

Is there any open source cms out there that I can embed youtube video and create a site?

other than phpdirector?

I am looking for an open source Content Management System (CMS). This CMS needs to have a public facing navigation but when you login, it dynamically changes to a navigation for members only. What CMS out there can do this for me?

I want to start a small, localized, free singles community website. I want people to be able to register, participate in forums and polls as well as blogs. I would like if members could create their own profiles which could include blogs of their own.
Is there an open source CMS that would be best suited for this type of use?
