Im thinking of making this big website where I make a collection of freeware software hosted on my server and open source software.

Would it be illegal if i do so?

I have to explain to a group of normal computer users on what is the importance of open source software. What points are suitable for explaining it to users that only knows things like youtube,facebook,ms windows and ms office

I would like to question some developers and find information concerning the development of open source software for the real estate market, however I’m not sure where to start to do this.

Why do many public institutions, such as schools and libraries, block reputable open-source software websites?
My local public library recently installed new internet filters for both wired and wifi connections. Sites like SourceForge and PortableApps are now blocked, even if using your own laptop through a wired or wifi connection. The library IT guy says the blocks were a requirement from the filtering provider, but that seems rather unfair.

What is the difference among shareware, open source software and freeware?

How does the open source software business model works for company like google? How would they earn money other than releasing their own hardware products that works only with their particular software…

Ok, I know you cant sell open source software. But my question is can you use it to make money? Say I integrate an open source software into my website with slight modification in the code as I require. Can I place ads on the same site and monetize on it? I am not selling the software to anyone, I am just using it as a part of my site to ad value to my users. And the money being generated is not through the software but through the ads.
