I know Java and C++, I am working into my CS BA, but how do I go on further outside my classroom?

I want to improve my programming skills and maybe take on a open source project so I have something to put on my resume, anyone who is experience in programming please help.

Now I know you probably get a lot of different questions about how to start a programming career, but ever since I was 13 I thought I wanted to become some kind of programmer. And I thought I would start in college by taking courses. But I want to start now, I downloaded an E book on C# and for the most part its making sense. But I want to know what languages, projects, and other possible things I can learn to do that will get me a head start to a career in programming. Thanks!

I have an idea for my country that will earn good money on the base of programming for local demand with my mother language. I have a programmer too but not so professional. But I would make very good description and directive for a subcontractor. I wanna order a program about local financial request then planning to market and sell to my local market. How i can found a good and reliable subcontractor.

Hello guys, i have searched a lot for a way to get the invisible status of yahoo messenger, but i cant get the way. I would like to create a custom firmware package for off the shelf wifi routers, (linksys/cisco is my preference) open sourced, for an art project. Project is funded and programmer would receive all money beyond hardware purchase requirements to get the project off the ground. I will receive no money, but will retain IP of project.

I;d like to start html5 as my first programming language. Sadly, I dont know what program to use. I’m looking for a program that’s similar to dreamweaver cs5 but apparently thats not gonna happen…So if you have any good programs to use and any ebooks on html5 that’ll help a programmer noob like me, then i would really appreciate it!
