I’m currently just teaching myself HTML & CSS, I realize they are markup languages but I thought It would be a good place to start at least. With programming languages though, I’m almost thinking about just going through BASIC, just to start, and then maybe move on to Python. But what do you guys think?

I want to learn programming languages and want to make software. But I don’t know where should I get started. Some say I should begin with C language, while the other says begin with BASIC. Please tell me which one should I learn initially, and kindly also tell me what is the difference between C, C++, BASIC and what should be the correct order to learn all programming languages.

I’m already proficient in Java, and I know some C++ so I’m not new to programming in general. I want to learn something new though aside from commonly used languages, and I heard that Delphi is great for native Windows application development. Is this true for those who have used it? I’ve seen open source applications that are written in Delphi, but I’ve never used it myself how does it compare to other programming languages?

Im currently taking a web-starter course and the teacher has learned many programming languages and offered to teach me one. I am heading towards a course in games development therefore I would love if someone could tell me what most mmorpgs use. Thanks

I need to write a program in C. I don’t know the language yet but I know other programming languages and I think I can figure it out on my own. I just got a new Mac but have no idea where to start my program and how to compile it. Help?!

Is it just a joke, or is it actually used in certain places? I also saw brain**** which is also pretty retarded. Do these programming languages have any purpose lol? I don’t think they’d care if you went into an interview and said you were proficient in those two languages xD. Anyway, just curious about programmers out there. Do you just use that as a joke, or what?
I did read that they were just jokes and such, but I didn’t know if anyone LEGITIMATELY learned and used this….

I’m unable to go to school for it, but it is something i’m passionate about learning. I’m wondering if there is someway to learn via the internet, without attending a college or online college. I have no experience with any of the programming languages, but i’d like to start with C and move on from there.

I’ve started learning visual basic to get a head start at the basics of programming. I’m a computer science major, but I don’t start my computer classes until the fall. I will be learning java, C++, and multiple other programming languages after that I’m sure, but how useful is learning Visual Basic? Will I actually ever use it in my programming career after college?
