I want to creat a computer program that can easily decode a simple monoalphabetic code. It would be something as simple as typing in D would bring up E. The problem is that I’ve never written a computer code before. I’ve done code as in cryptology though. Someone help me please.

*The code is in english. I’ll explain a bit more. My friend and I have been changing the language input setting on our computers to Dvorak instead of Qwerty and typing on the normal Qwerty keyboard. So, essentially, it comes up coded. The problem is that it takes a while to decode our messages. I am looking for something like a langauge translator or such that I could copy and paste in her message and get the translation out of. thanks
