How can I create programs for the iPhone with no programming experience?

I have been using computers since second grade, and I taught myself basic HTML as a teenager and created many web pages etc. I am interested in creating apps for the iPhone, and I am wondering what resources I should seek for knowledge about basic programming or software development. Thank you!

What can I do with a computer science degree besides programming?

I know this is the programming section, but maybe some of you can answer this.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science. What can I do that isn’t strictly programming or software development (it can involve some programming, but not where 100% of your work is coding)? Also what can I do that’s outside of the IT industry? And what would I need to have or learn besides my degree to get there?

How useful is Delphi as a programming language to learn in terms of software development?

I’m already proficient in Java, and I know some C++ so I’m not new to programming in general. I want to learn something new though aside from commonly used languages, and I heard that Delphi is great for native Windows application development. Is this true for those who have used it? I’ve seen open source applications that are written in Delphi, but I’ve never used it myself how does it compare to other programming languages?

How to earn money through open source software?

I know all the positives of open source software, but what I am asking is this. Is it possible to make money out of it? If yes, how?

If it isn’t possible, then can we hope for a future where all software will be open source? I doubt there will be many people wanting to "work" for free. Would it attract less people to software development? How will it affect software companies?

Can open source software development or coursework count as work experience?

When applying for a job as a software developer, does open source development and college/university coursework count as work experience? or does it have to be a formal 9-5 job to count as experience?
