how do you setup and install Groundworks open source monitoring?

I am trying to install this monitoring software on Ubuntu and it appears that its just not working. i cannot seem to find any documentation for setting this up anywhere unless i am willing to pay for the full product. but that defeats the point of offering an open source product. You cant use it if its so complicated you cant figure it out without documentation.
