dear friends, I want to become a programmer, i just know alpha-bate of java and vb.

First which language you would prefer me to learn and why

and second how long do i need approximately to become a programmer. if i work 3 hours a day.

I want to start learning programming online im 15, which software is da best. VB, c++, java ect.. I dont want it to be hard and i want it to be fun. I dont really want to make huge programs on them, maybe some iphone apps and windows stuff, but i might study this in uni. so which 1 do u suggest?

Ok I am very interested in getting into computer programming and have a few questions.

Is Visual Basic 2008 and VB.net the same or similar language and which one is better to learn and will be used most in the future.

Is it easy to learn to program C, C++ after a few years using VB

I am a High School Junior, will be a senior is 1 day, and I am wondering which programming languages I should get acquainted with before entering college. I am planning on going into computer science & informatics and going into the security side of things. I have been told that I don’t really need to learn any but I’d still like to be ahead a little going in. I have already taken a class on VB and am currently working on some MySQL & C++. What else should I look into?

An example would be… I run a script, and calculator opens up, and queries the sum of 1 + 1. Thank you!
I am running windows vista, but I am convinced at this point my best chance is to load linux. Can someone elaborate on how sending keystroaks to a program with VB, C, C+ ect..

I am busy studying for programming and now i have the choice of either choosing C#,C++,VB.NET or java as a programming Language.Which one of these is the best to do and which one will get you a good job,im planning to go to America or Canada after my studies.What are my chances of getting a programmers job there and which language is bery popular in these countries.Thanks
