I am using Visual C# in vista and I would like to know how to access the serial port to control LED’s on a microcontroller. I would like something basic to get me started.

Ok. I was reading somewhere i can download Linux and Wubi and have Linux on my computer along with my VIsta.

Where can i download the latest Linux for free and Wubi?
Did you like Linux?
Should i partion my hard drive or do it the Wubi way and have it as a "application"?
Please dont say" Move away from Vista and Linux and go to Mac." Cause trust me if i had the $ i would give it a try.

I had a Maxtor 200 GB external harddrive connected to this machine before; however now my computer wont recognize the drive. It is model Maxtor Personal Storage 3200.

The error I get is the following.

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click ‘Check for solutions’ to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

I tried to check for solutions and get nothing so far.

I cant log in my admin account now. Someone told me if I wanna delete the administrator account, I have to reinstall my OS and set my admin account again.
I dont wanna do that! My files will lost! Help!

I have connected in my desktop (vista machine) an external drive, but i think some sectors are bad on this drive, i need to access if possible some important files from it. Is there a free or open source tool that can try to repair or that would allow me to access the files on that drive? Thanks

What can I use what will work like a Virtual PC console? What are the other options? Thx

So I’m building a new computer soon. I really want to start using it straight away. Which OS should I install (of XP and vista) if I plan on upgrading to windows 7 once it comes out? I’d really like the transfer to be quick and painless. Also I’ve heard of people running multiple OS how do you do this?
