I have installed both Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux in two separate partitions. NTFS for Windows and ext3 for Linux.
However if I try to repair my existing Windows installation using the Windows XP CD, Grub error 17 (stage 1.5) occurs at the first system restart of Windows setup, and then system halts.

Is there any solution for this?
Is there anything I can do using the grub’s prompt?

Everytime I try to get on Microsoft Word a pop-up comes up that says I must enter a pin code in order to access Word- part of Windows XP. What is this pin code and how do I figure out what mine is?

is it ok to format a (c) drive by going into my computer right click the c drive and format. i have windows xp pro on the (d) drive and a non working one on the c drive. i keep getting please select os to start when i turn on my computer. would it be ok if i just right click the c drive format and then it will just stop coming up.

I’m using SBC Yahoo DSL on a computer running Windows XP. I access a web page regularly that I suddenly can’t access. I get a message "Your Web browser is configured not to run script or dosn’t support script in web pages. Check your browser settings or use a browser that can run script."

I checked my browser settngs, but I don’t see a command that says, "Enable script." And I’ve accessed this site regularly and haven’t changed any settings over time. So, what should I do?
