What is the easiest way to install a second OS on my laptop?
I have a linux freespire OS that I would like to install. I have over 80GB free space on my hard drive. The OS I am running is XP Pro SP3. My laptop is a Dell Latitude D610,2GB RAM. I don’t know anything about partitioning or reformatting. The only experience I have was doing a clean install of Ubuntu on my deceased laptop. Anything would be helpful.
I don’t think I can agree with the first answer… "Partition Magic Publisher’s Description"
Partition Magic allows you to create, resize and merge partitions on your hard drive without destroying data. Partition Magic helps organize and protect your data, run multiple operating systems, convert file system types and fix partition table errors.
You can find out more about it here: http://www.soft32.com/download_151.html
There may be even some free software out there that can do the same thing.
Hope this helps.
this isn’t possible cause you have reformat in order to partition a drive (splitting a single drive into 2 separate drives). even if you do have a bunch of space, you’ll have to reformat. sorry.
