Whats the terminal command for linux mint 4 to access lost and found?
I have linux mint 4. I need to wipe my computer off of junk and reinstall. I also want to upgrade my hardrive and reinstall linux mint 7, and the latest ubuntu. I want to get the junk off manually, search and destroy, and then uninstall. I need that harddrive for my other computer, can you help me out? Linunx mint is the way to go by the way.
If you are looking to delete and format the Drive with Linux Mint 4.0 on it I recommend you use Gnome Partition Editor (GParted). For this operation you can run off any Ubuntu or Mint LiveCD as Gnome Partition Editor is included

This answer is not the way to go which is why the above didn’t tell you. You only need use gparted as suggested. Even if you were keeping this hard drive to put mint 7 on you would use the mint 7 install disk to install, formatting the drive in the process.
You should be able to find this via google. ‘open nautilus as root’ maybe. In case someone does a search and finds this and just for your information I will tell you (you can also open a terminal as root then open nautilus.) This is dangerous. The reason Linux is so secure is that root access is mostly unnecessary. I have a link that explains it quite well:-
